SUCCESSFUL VISIT FOR SAM RAINSY AND KEM SOKHA IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

SUCCESSFUL VISIT FOR SAM RAINSY AND KEM SOKHA IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha, respectively president and future vice-president of the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), are concluding a successful 10-day visit to Australia and New Zealand. They have been warmly welcomed by Cambodian communities in both countries. Public meetings have been held in Melbourne, Sydney, Wellington, Auckland with participants up to 500 per meeting and donations collected up to 10,000 USD at each venue. Two last public meetings will take place in Adelaide (South Australia) this
evening and tomorrow.

In the five cities and their vicinities, Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha will have visited -- between public meetings -- 15 Khmer Buddhist temples with other gatherings were organised with different audiences.

In the two countries, the two CNRP leaders have met with members of parliament and officials from ministries of foreign affairs and aid agencies. They also gave interviews to local media such as ABC and SBS in Australia and Radio New Zealand.
