Cambodia's Coastline Uncovered: Asia's Best 'Kep' Secret

Kep, Cambodia: Asia meets France by the seaside
At the moment only locals and informed travellers visit the town, but the situation is likely to change soon

Bangkok-based Backyard Travel, Asia’s most innovative tour and travel operator, today unveiled one of Cambodia's freshest new beach destinations – the sleepy seaside town of Kep.

Bangkok, Thailand (PRWEB) August 09, 2012
Cambodia's lengthy coastline boasts some of Southeast Asia's best settings for an idyllic tropical vacation. With the warm blue waters of the Thai Gulf lapping against white sands, Kep and the surrounding region invites exploration well beyond the beautiful beaches of it’s better known neighbor, Sihanoukville.
Easily accessible from Sihanoukville and now directly connected to Phnom Penh by road, the unassuming ex-colonial enclave of Kep lures travelers with its hypnotically lazy pace. No longer the sole preserve of the intrepid, Kep's treasures are now easily available to anyone seeking serious time out after exploring the temples of Angkor Wat or visiting the historic landmarks surrounding Phnom Penh.
Calmly abiding well below the international travel radar, it's also still somewhat of a secret, and despite being pegged as an upcoming hotspot, it has thankfully resisted large-scale development with tourist infrastructure being largely in the form of rustic beach bungalows and 1930s French villas converted into quaint hotels.
Due to the growing interest in this region, Backyard Travel has launched a new tour, The Road Less Travelled - Cambodia’s South, which combines the famous highlights of Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, before traversing the coastline's gems: Sihanoukville, Kep, and Koh Kong.

Former Cambodian resident and current Sales Manager for Backyard Travel Sibylle Rotzler stated: "A seaside getaway is not what most travelers think of when they book a holiday to Cambodia. Most come to visit the temples of Angkor Wat and are pleasantly surprised when we recommend Kep. Its laidback feel, charming boutique hotels, great food and tropical islands make it a lovely spot to rest and recharge at the end of a Cambodian tour."
To catch quaint little Kep while it's still sleepy and full of laidback charm, combine it with temple tours and cultural sightseeing on a historic tour of southern Cambodia through Backyard Travel. Check back to the site for more tours covering the less-traveled paths throughout the Asia region.

Do not allow people selling stuff on the beach, they must have proper stall or shoping house properly....trash will be a problem!
