The Koh Kong Military Police has arrested the killer of environmentalist Chut Wutty (pictured) and military policeman In Ratana, which took place on Thursday 26th May and which drew national and international condemnation.
Chut Wutty was killed while escorting two journalists from the Cambodia Daily to investigate illegal logging in Koh Kong's Mundol Seima district.
Initial police reports said he died in a shoot out with military policeman In Ratana. However, the police quickly changed a story that In Ratana shot Chut Wutty to death and that he himself was killed by his own bullets when they hit Wutty's car, ricocheted to kill him. Later, the police version of the killing put the blame on In Ratana, saying that he killed Chut Wutty before committing suicide by shooting himself twice in the stomach and the chest with his own AK-45 assault rifle.
Now, the police version has changed to a case of someone killing both Chutty and In Ratana, less than a day after Prime MInister Hun Sen has ordered an investigation into the murders.
Mr. Thong Naroth, Koh Kong Police Commissioner, said on Wednesday 2nd May that the killer has been arrested and that the military police is questioning many witnesses.
Mr. Am Sam Ath, investigator for human rights group Licadho, said on the afternoon of 1st May that the arrested suspect was Rann Borath, chief of security for a logging company named Timber Green, owned by tycoon Try Pheap.
Mr. Am Sam Ath said that Rann Borath is the son of the chief of Koh Kong Forestry Department, Hun Rann.
Is Rann Borath a scapegoat or was he the real killer? Will he become a fake killer like Sok Sam Oeun and Born Samnang who were framed in the murder of union leader Chea Vichea in 2004?

I thought the authority said Wutty's killer was In Ratana, who is dead now, so it means they caught the dead killer? Unbelievable, they changed story by the minutes.
Incompetences Cpp will not know how to solve
crime,while crime were commited by their cronies,they (Cpp) cover up their comrades
ass,blames on these two victims saying that these two victims killing each others,bullets
ricocheted (bound back) killing the "killer In
Rata." In fact,In Ratana was a victim as well.
Cpp knews whom behind these killing but
they turn the blind eyes to cover up their cronies.Telling flip flop stories to the world
because they think the world is dumb jungle head like them.
HunSen,knew who is behind these double murdered too,thatwise,he won't tall much
about this subject at Sinorooksville projects

HunSen said before that "if he can't stop illegal logging company,he will cut his head off and threw away." Its time for HunSen to cut his head
off like he promised,put the words where his

i pay money to rent or buy a movie to watch...but this kind of movie is free of charge..all i just need to do is log on to the sites and will hear different accounts and different scenarios about the SIMPLE Hero murder..it is so funny to listen or watch the movie...never know that khmer government is so good at making movie...why don u take one to compete with Hollywood or the world....your mind is fascinating and full of creativity , u know how to make up story, the plot, the scene ....and the tone,...oh u're so good, no doubt u will win Oscar Award....huh huh
The killer is the son forestry chief so the story is properly true.
