PHNOM PENH, 28 May 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - Cambodia and China signed a memorandum
of understanding Monday to strengthen bilateral military cooperation
while China also offered almost $20 million for military aid.
The aid was announced by Defense Minister Tea Banh after a meeting with Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie, who arrived in Cambodia Sunday for a four-day visit.
"China decided to give Cambodia 120 yuan to help build military hospitals and training schools. China will also help train more Cambodian military officers," he said.
Tea Banh also said that Liang would announce China’s stand on the South China Sea during a meeting with ASEAN defense ministers on Tuesday.
